(the) More I see centers our choreography around music, slow embraces and intimate contact as we rely on one another for support. The work explores ideas about intimacy, gender, memory, loss, grief, nostalgia and friendship. We dance to The Smiths, which situates us towards the past, our adolescence, to work through recent traumas we’ve experienced together as friends. It’s a slow dance, and importantly, though it’s not romantic, the intimacy we’ve shared over 15 years of artistic collaboration is felt through close embrace, tender partnering and support of one another.
